Compel Night 2

Next month we will be challenging our students to evangelize. Two weeks prior to our Compel Night we will be handing out flyers and talking to people about Jesus. We had a great turn out on our last Compel night, with 17 committing their lives to Christ. That never gets old. So I am pumped, excited, and expresso elated at what is about to GO DOWN.

Godfather Series

During this next series we will be taking a look at what it means for God to be the father in our lives. And how the blessing comes when we submit to the father. We will also look at how to deal with betrayal and hurt from those closes to you. Can't wait. Check out the promo:

Launch 1 year ANNIVERSARY

We just had our 1 year anniversary here at Launch and it was a BLAST celebrating it with students. We wanted to make a big deal, so we decided to make it a compel night. We invited one of the nations greats named Philip Bixby. He is a terrific worship/youth pastor, who loves this generation. You can purchase an album he is featured on in iTunes called "Bring the broken home". He also has a great single called "I'm Yours".

So prior to compel night, we spoke about what it means to evangelize. We also took our students on a trip to show them what it looks like practically. So often we tell our students to go but don't show them what it looks like to evangelize.

I am honored and humbled to write that we had over 45 people show up that night and the best part over 17 decisions for Christ. It was so overwhelming to Shayna and I to see the response during the altar call. And icing on the cake: reading a students Facebook post that he gave his heart to Jesus. That never gets old. I love what God is doing at Launch.

This was the promo video we used.

Heart Of A Champion

Launch has been very productive this summer in trying to build relationships. We just ended a series called Heart Of A Champion. It's been a great journey as we look at the life of Nehemiah and how his burden drove him to do incredible things for God.

Nehemiah left the comfort of a palace to a place that was ruined and badly looked upon. A place called Jerusalem. He had a burden to rebuild the walls which I believe had a spiritual side to it. I shared how rebuilding the walls not only meant safety and security for Jerusalem but also meant a fresh start. And how God is a God of second chances and that this upcoming school year for so many of our students is another chance for them to have an impact. That God has called them to win their friends and that this year (I believe) is a defining moment for all of them.  They will see great things accomplished as they lay one brick at a time.

The team is working extremely hard as we are preparing for the fall. The next 3 months are almost completed with the layout of each service. We have our 1 year celebration of Launch, which is going to be epic. We have Trinity's youth pastor coming to speak on September 26. Phillip Bixby is probably one of the most talented worship/communicators of our generation. He has served under the leadership of Rich Wilkerson Jr for several years now. So mark your calendars because September 26 will probably be one of our greatest Wednesdays in Launch history. Join us!

Camp 3D

I had the privilege of taking 11 people to camp this year. What an incredible week for our students. The high energy games and night services were out of this world. Our guest speaker Pastor Jeremy Johnson preached the house down. My favorite part of the week was at night, when I was given the opportunity to hear what God did in the lives of our students.

Also, Pastor Jeremy encouraged all the youth pastors and leaders to continue fighting.

Pastor Jeremy mentioned when he went through a tough time his mentor handed him a napkin and told PJ to let it all out. And when PJ stop crying, his mentor told him that should be the last time he should ever cry about himself. That God has called him to cry over a generation, not himself. I will never forget that.

God has called me to cry for a generation. Although I have a burden that on most days feels to heavy to carry, I will continue to complete the task the lord Jesus Christ has given me (Acts 20:24). I know the plans he has for me is to give me hope and a future.

So although camp was life changing for our students, I would say this years camp impacted my life forever.

New Series starting in January

We have the opportunity to start the year off on the right foot. What will you do different in 2012. This new series will cover the importance of starting off right. I will be going over practical steps on improving your relationship both with others and God. We are excited for this opportunity to invest in our relationships.
